NHL Recap
Boooooooooooooooooooooooo
The Flyers lost again even though they outshot the Capitals 31-26. In Carolina the Hurricanes defeated the Ottawa Senators 1-0. Eric Staal scored the lone goal in the first period.
The Tampa Bay Lightning turned their offense last night in an 8-3 win over the Jets. All but 5 players recorded a point for the Lightning. NBA Highest Scoring Teams
NBA's Leading
Scorer on NBA's
highest scoring
team
1. Oklahoma City 105.7 At the same time that score all these points they are limiting their opponents to 97.1 per game. Their high scoring currently has them 2nd in the NBA and leading the Northwest Division by 6 games. More importantly, why the fuck do they play in the Northwest, just because they are the *Ghost Sonics* doesn't mean they need to stay in that division.
2. Houston Rockets 105 The high octane offense doesn't seem to be doing much for them as they around just above .500 at 25-23 and are currently in third place of the Southwest division. That could be contributed to their 16.6 turnovers per game and the fact that they let their opponents score 102.7.
3. San Antonio Spurs 104.3 The best team in the NBA has the 3rd best offense in addition to the 6th best defense. Currently lead the Grizzlies by 6 games in the Southwest Conference.
4. Denver Nuggets 104 Their defense has been kind of slacking letting up 100.7 a game but their offense has led them to a 30-18 record which is good enough for second in the Northwest.
5. Miami Heat 102.4 Playing great defense as well and have found themselves in first place in the Southeast Division as well as first place in the Eastern Conference.
5. LA Lakers 102.4 If only their defense was as good as their offense, it has struggled letting up 100.9 a game leaving them with a .447 W% and third place in the Pacific Ocean. They are currently 12.5 games behind the division leading Clippers.
7. Golden State Warriors 100.9 We see a bit of a drop off here but the Warriors are playing good basketball and are currently second in the Pacific being 4 games out.
#2 in scoring
8. Dallas Mavericks 100.7 The Mavs are really struggling this year finding themselves fouth place in the southwest with a 20-27 record. They have never been strong defensively but they are the only team in the top 10 with a negative point difference letting up 102.9 a game.
9. New York Knicks 100.6 The resurgent Knicks are playing strong defense as well only letting up 96 points per game and find themselves in first place of the Atlantic Defense. They lead the Celtics by 2.5 games.
10. LA Clippers 100.3 The 4th best defense in the NBA also play above average offense. LA's "other team" is leading the Pacific Ocean and lead their cross town rivals by 12.5 games.

NHL Highest Scoring Teams
Tied for 2nd in NHL for scoring
1. Tampa Bay Lightning 5.29 With only 7 games played a few games can really throw off the average. The Lighting have scored at least 4 goals and every single game and have reached 8 goals in a game against the Jets. Their defense has been above average letting 2.57 a game but they are currently 5 points ahead of the second place Jets and have the 3rd most points in the NHL.
2. San Jose Sharks 3.86 Playing great defense only letting up 1.71 a game. Their offense has been lead by Patrick Marleau who has 14 points with 9 goals and 5 assists. They are currently tied with the Blackhawks with the most points in the NHL with 14. The Sharks have still yet to lose again.
2. New York Islanders 3.86 First place in the Atlantic solely due to their offense as they are the
6th worst defense in the league. Are number one in the NHL with a 37.5% Powerplay conversion rate.
4. St. Louis Blues 3.75 Also have the 7th best defense in the league and the 2nd best powerplay. Vladimir Tarasenko leads the Blues with 10 points and the team is currently in second place of the Central Division 2 points behind the Blackhawks.
Vanek is the NHL's leading
scorer with 15 points
5. Buffalo Sabres 3.29 The 5th best offense also has the 6th wort defense (which should be even ranked lower because of their bullshit luck against the Flyers (never forget)). They find themselves 4 points out of the lead in the Northeast Division. Thomas Vanek leads the team in points (15), goals (6), and assists (9).
6. Anaheim Ducks 3.17 Currently in second place in the Pacific 5 points behind the Sharks. Teemu Selanne has been the playmaker for the Ducks with 6 assists and 2 goals.
7. Chicago Blackhawks 3.13 Tied for first in the NHL with the Sharks Chicago has the third best defense only letting up 2 a game. Patrick Kane lead the Hawks with 11 points featuring 8 assists and Marian Hossa leads the team with 5 goals.
7. Phoenix Coyotes 3.13 4th place in the Pacific Division because of their morbid defense (3.1 GAA which is 22nd in the league). Radim Vrbata leads the team with 6 assists and 9 points while Steve Sullivan leads the team with 4 assists.
9. Ottawa Senators 3 They are currently tied for first place in the Northeast with the Bruins thanks to the best defense in the league (1.6 goals per game). Craig Anderson has a .99 GAA in his 7 games while backup Ben Bishop has a 5.02. Kyle Turns leads the Senators with 7 points and 4 goals.
9. Winnipeg Jets 3 The Jets finish off this list and they are currently in second place in the Southeast 5 points behind the Lightning. They have the 2nd worst defense in the league so if they get that together they should be golden. Tobias Enstrom leads the team with 11 points featuring 9 goals.
