Did the Eagles make the Right Choice?

Chip Kelly announced Michael Vick will be the starting quarterback today.
Chip Kelly claims that after 42 opportunities to see his quarterbacks compete, that Michael Vick is his starter for the upcoming season. While many in the media thought that Vick would win the job due to his athleticism, I for one was surprised that Foles did not walk away the starter.
Statisticly, Vick came away as the clear favorite with a quarterback rating twice that of Foles. His completion percentage of 86.7 was 12 points higher than Foles'. Vick was also able to throw for a touchdown which Foles did not do... but they each threw one interception. If you look a little deeper into their stats you would see that even though Vick had one deep throw to Desean Jackson many of his completions came off of short dump passes where the running back was able to pick up a decent amount of yardage.
When it comes into fitting Kelly's offense I think that Foles is superior. The so called athletic advantage that Vick has was not put into use as Foles was the only one to run for a touchdown and Foles did have more yardage on the ground (he however did have one more attempt). Foles also looked more comfortable running the quick paced offense.
That's just my opinion on the Eagles' quarterback situation, a NFL preview is in the works, as well as NHL and NBA. Hopefully 1 or 2 articles a week throughout the Fall.
