We will start in New York where the Knicks and the Clippers battled it out in a matchup of two division leaders. Carmelo Anthony's 42 points were not enough for the Knicks as they fell 102-88.
At one points this game was a marquee matchup but the Lakers struggles of lately have greatly diminished their national presence (other than talking about how much they suck). Lebrong James led the Heat with 32 points while Kobe Bryant led the Lakers in points (28) and assists (9).
The Boston Celtics upset the Denver Nuggets at home in a 118-114 victory in 3 overtimes. Paul Pierce recorded a triple double for the Celtics with 27 points, 14 rebounds, and 14 assists. Ty Lawson had 29 points and 9 assists fort he Nuggets.
The Raptors and the Hornets played in a game that each time would be better of losing in order to get a better lottery number. However, Toronto came away victorious winning 102-89.Rudy Gay has continued to perform well for his new team scoring 20 points.
The Orlando Magic pulled off a bit of an upset beating the Trail Blazers 110-104. J.J. Redick led the Magic with 22 points while Lamarcus Aldridge scored 25 in the loss.

The Thunder had little trouble with the Phoenix Suns defeating them 97-69. Russell Westbrook led the Thunder with 24 points and Thabo Sefolosha also chipped in 20. Sefolosha had an incredible +38 for night. No Suns player is worth commenting on as no starter scored more than 8 points and only one player on the bench scored more than 10.
In the last game of the night the Kings won the 4th quarter 33-25 and ended up winning the whole thing 117-111 against the Rockets. James Harden scored 30 points for the Rockets. John Salmons and Isiah Thomas each scored 23 for the Kings.
All NBA 2/4/13-2/10/13
Was a guard dominated week so this team will be going small with two small forwards instead of a power forward.
Guard- Tony Parker- San Antonio *Player of the Week* In 3 games last week Parker led the Spurs to a 2-1 record with the one loss being a 119-109 loss to the Pistons. In those 3 games Parker was 24 for 25 from the free throw line and averaged 30.3 points a game. He also averaged 9 assists a game along with 3.3 rebounds.
Guard- James Harden- Houston The Rockets Played a heavy 4 game schedule last week going 2-2including a monster 104-109 victory over Golden State. Harden had a great week shooting 58.3% from the field and scoring 29.8 points per game. He still however has trouble handling the ball giving the ball away 3 times a game but also dished out 7.2 assists per.
Forward- Lebron James- Miami Led the Heat to 4 victories in 4 games averaging 31.2 points per game and 6.5 rebounds. Shot 61.5% from 3pt land and an even better 73.8% in general. Also chipped in 5.8 assists but struggled with 4.5 turnovers.
Forward- Paul Pierce- Boston Wasn't such a sharp shooter only shooting 39.6% from the field in Boston's 3 game week (they won every one).He made up for the low shooting efficiency with 10.7 rebounds and 8.7 assists per game.
Center- LaMarcus Aldridge- Portland Portland finds themselves just outside the playoff picture right now at 25-26 and last week's 1-4 effort does not help things. Aldridge did all he could for the Blazers however scoring 27 points a game along with 10 rebounds. He was very efficient with the ball only turning it over .5 times a game.
NHL Recap
Jonathan Ericsson's goal with 5 seconds left gave the Red Wings a 3-2 win at home against the Kings. Jimmy Howard made 45 saves for the Wings.
R.J. Umberger's 1st goal of the year tied the game early in the 3rd but goals by Magnus Paajarvi and Sam Gagner helped the Oilers win 3-1.
Patrice Bergeron's 3rd period goal on the powerplay put the Bruins up 2-1. The Bruins offense had a great night getting 39 shots off in the 3-1 victory over the Sabres.
The Rangers were led by Carl Hagelin's 2 goals in their 5-1 win over the Lightning. Mathieu Garon was pulled halfway through the game in favor of Anders Lindback.
The Devils' David Clarkson scored 2 goals to improve to 9 on the year in their 3-1 victory over the Pens. Backup goalie Johan Hedberg got the win.
The Blackhawks are still undefeated in regular time after their 3-0 defeat of the Predators. Patrick Kane scored his 9th of the season and Jonathan Toews scored his 6th.
NHL All Star Team
Forward- Henrik Sedin- Vancouver *Player of the Week* The Cancuks went 3-0 last week in what could be considered a somewhat light schedule int the shortened season. Sedin did not score any goals but he did record 3 assists and went 45-13 at the faceoff dot. Recorded a +4 rating for the week.
Forward- Tyler Bozak- Toronto The Maple Leafs went 3-1 last week with their only loss coming against Carolina. Bozak himself scored 2 goals including one shorthanded and also chipped in an assist. Played strong on both sides of the ice knocking down 5 opponents and recording 4 takeaways.
Forward- Mikko Koivu- Minnesota Minnesota struggled last week going 1-2 with their only win coming in overtime against the Nashville. Koivu's only point came on an assist but he played great defensively with 6 hits, 3 takeways, and 2 blocked shots.
Forward- Paul Gaustad- Nashville Another player from a not so great team but they did go 2-2 last week and Gaustad played a huge role. He scored one goal and added two assists to finish the week with a +3 rating. On defense, he had 4 hits, 2 blocks, and 2 takeaways.
Defense- Dion Phaneuf- Toronto Scored one powerplay goal as well as an assist. Played very offensively getting 8 shtos on net but also played great defense knocking down 11 opponents and blocking 8 shots.
Defense- Slava Voynov- LA Kings Los Angeles struggled mightily going 1-2 int he past week but Voynov was a tiny glimpse of something special scoring one goal and assisting on another to finish with 2 points. He had a +4 rating for the week and played great defense blocking 3 shots in addition to his 8 hits.
Defense- Luke Schenn- Philadelphia Pains me to do this but the Flyers went 2-1 last week with two games going to overtime and their loss was in a shootout and Schenn actually played good. I still think it was a stupid trade but Schenn played very physical hitting 14 guys and also blocking 12 shots.
Goalie- Cam Ward- Carolina Won 2 of his 3 games and his only loss came in overtime. Stopped 114 of 121 shots for a .942 SV%.
Goalie- Iilya Bryzgalov- Philadelphia His offense wasn't the best of help this week but he did go 2-0-1 saving 73 of 79 shots and also got an assist.
